Bangalore, Nov 17: Angered over the efforts being made by the state government to nail his hard-hitting sons Kumaraswami and Revanna, Deve Gowda thundered that both his sons will ably face the consequences, if the Lokayukta issues notices to them. "The chief minister Yeddyurappa entrusted inquiry against my sons to the Lokayukta. I will heartily congratulate the Lokayukta if he issues notices to them," he commented wryly.
"In the history of the state politics, I am the only politician to have faced the Lokayukta inquiry so far. When I faced allegations, I personally went to the Lokayukta office and took part in the investigations. Isn't it our duty to respect the laws we ourselves created?," Gowda questioned.
"Yeddyurappa blocked the efforts made by my son and ex-chief minister Kumaraswami when he tried to strengthen the hands of the Lokayukta. The BJP too was against the said move. When the government tried to promulgate ordinance for the purpose, the Governor did not allow it," he added.
Gowda also gave vent to his ire against the past NDA and the present UPA regimes at the centre for allowing the situation to worsen in the country, and forcing the Muslims to live in an environment of constant fear. "Those who chose to remain in their motherland during the partition of the country are now branded as traitors. RSS is responsible for this situation. If I was the prime minister of the country under the current situation, I would have banned the RSS, because of the plight of thousands of people in Orissa who are leading a hellish life because of the Sangh Parivar outfits," he said.
He also requested the media not to publish names of the accused till the allegations are proved and not to forget their responsibility to the society. He reiterated his plan to write down his experience in about three to four volumes, for the benefit of future generations.
