Mangalore, Nov 17: The commissioner of Muzrai department has called a meeting related to the ‘Datta Peeta’ at his office in Bangalore, scheduled for Saturday November 22 at 3 pm.
The meet will be for devotees of Datta Guru to share experiences of their pilgrimage to the Datta Peeta, the puja, and the days spent there in servitude. The devotees are requested to make use of this opportunity to its fullest, said B S Vittal Rao, trustee, Development Committee, Shri Guru Dattatreya Peeta Temple, in a release.

After a long legal struggle, the High Court has given the judgement in favor of the Hindus. The court gave Hindus the right to perform puja as per Hindu customs. The priest have also been ordered to perform puja as desired by the devotees. The system of puja will be as it was performed before Tipu Sultan took over the shrine.
The commissioner will give his final verdict on implementing and continuing traditions and customs of yore when performing puja at the shrine.
