Hangarkatte, Nov 9: “The relationship between parents and children is strong and emotional. Imparting good values to children is important. Children imitate their parents. As children improve in culture when celebrations improve, parents should not forget their responsibilities to mold children as great,” said Nrasimhashrama Swamy of Hangarkattee Balekudru math.
He set in motion a programme to offer respect to parents as part of tenth anniversary of Suddimane weekly magazine at Balekudru math on November 8.
“Our elders have departed after giving society several celebrations. It is our duty to pick which of them is suitable and make them grow. We should not forget that we are indebted to our parents,” he said.
Programme president N Mohan Acharya, honorary guide Y N Venkateshamurthy Bhat, Keshava P Gangolli, secretary Ravikumar Gangolli offered their respects to their teachers. Honorary guide Shashikala Bijoor delivered the keynote address. Management committee president Shambhu Shetty, Suddimane executive editor Sunil Byndoor and others were present.
Convener Santhosh Koni proposed the vote of thanks. Manjunath Bhat compered the programme.
