Bengaluru, Nov 6: Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, and the JD(S)-Congress coalition deciding to fight it together, JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda said that differences between the grass root level workers in both the parties will be sorted.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, soon after bypoll results were announced, he said “The upcoming Lok Sabha elections have become the final battle of my life. The local leaders will be taken into confidence before finalising candidates in the 28 parliamentary constituencies. We will make sure that both the party’s workers will fight unitedly.”
The retaliation from the grass root level party workers when asked to campaign for Anitha Kumaraswamy for Ramanagara bypoll and L R Shivaramegowda for Mandya bypoll has put the top leaders of both the parties to worry.
It was clearly visible that many local leaders have still not come to terms with the coalition, with Congress leaders refusing to campaign for Shivaramegowda, forcing Deve Gowda to intervene and pacify.
“The differences between Congress and JD(S) are a thing of the past, with both the party’s leaders deciding to forget the animosity and move on,” he said.
Speaking on the second round of Cabinet expansion, Deve Gowda confirmed that there will be no more delays. “The decision will be taken by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy after holding discussions with Congress leader K C Venugopal. The pending appointments to the boards and corporations will happen soon,” he added.
