Mangaluru, Nov 5: MCC bank will open five new ATMs in Dakshina Kannada. The bank will also start E-Stamping, Pan Card, Senior Card facilities in selected branches and Mobile banking facilities soon. The bank already got the permission for NRI services. So the official inauguration of NRI cell of the bank will be scheduled in upcoming days.
Giving details in a press meet held at the bank head office at Hampankatta in the city, Anil Lobo, chairman of the bank, said “We, the new governing body have started to work as per the promises made in our manifesto. Our first preference is to open five new ATMs in the district and within two months we will open them. We are going to provide E Stamping and pan card services in our selected branches. Based upon the requirement we will extend this service to other branches also in future. We already have the facilities like RTGS/NEFT banking. We decided to update this system. We have already renovated the Kankanady and B C Road branches as fully air-conditioned branches."
"We had a long time demand on NRI banking service. Several times we requested RBI for this facility. At last, the RBI has granted permission for our bank to provide NRI services. By this facility we have become only the second state which has this facility in the co-operative banking sector," Anil added.
Anil further said, "The official launching of Mobile Banking will be held at Udupi on November 10. The renovated branch with air-conditioned facility and ATM counter at B C road will be inaugurated on November 18. At the same time we are happy to announce that on November 25, we are going to inaugurate our new ATM at Bajpe. With the opening of this ATM, we can cater to the customers of our bank around Bajpe, Adyapady, Kaikamba up to Kinnigoli in an efficient manner."
"In addition, we have an exclusive savings plan for students called Vidya Bhavishya. In this plan, we pay 1.5 % additional interest to account holders. The interest rates of deposits are very competitive and little bit higher than nationalized banks. It goes up to 7.5 %. The senior citizens will get 8%. In loans, especially for vehicle loans, we charge very less interest which is not available in any other banks," he added.
Jerald D'Silva, vice-chairman, Sunil, General Manager, Andrew D'Souza, Marcel D'Souza, Irene Rebello and Anil Patrao were present.
