Udupi, Nov 13: A rally for peace and justice will be held at Ajjarakad ground, at 3.15 pm on Saturday November 15, by the local unit of Jamat-e-Islami Hind, against the uncertainty and fear caused by ongoing communal flare-ups and terrorist activities in the country.
This is part of the nationwide rally being held by the All-India Jamat-e-Islami Hind, from Monday November 10 to Tuesday November 25, said Mohammed Idris, president, local unit of Jamat-e-Islami Hind, in a press conference on Thursday November 13 morning.
The public meeting will be held at Board High School ground at 4.15 pm on Saturday. The programme will be inaugurated by Abdulla Javed, president, Jamat-e-Islami Hind Karnataka and Goa, he added.
The programme will be presided over by Iqbal Mulla, secretary, Jamat-e-Islami Hind. Varadesh Hiragange, journalism professor, Fr William Martis, parish priest, Balkunje, and Mohammed Kunhi, proprietor, Shanti Publications, Mangalore, will talk on the occasion, added Idris.
Anwar Ali, president, Kaup Ghousia Jamat-e-Islami, Hind Iftikar, M Shabbir Malpe, and Mohammed Marakada, were present at the press conference.
