Mumbai: St Joseph’s Konkani Welfare Association presents Konkani drama ‘Aankvaar Mestri’

Mumbai, Oct 28: St Joseph’s Konkani Welfare Association Mira Road presented ‘Aankvaar Mestri’, amar Cha Fra Decosta’s popular, evergreen Konkani drama by Christy Neenasam and his team of Astitva Group from Mangaluru, directed by Denis Monteiro on Saturday, October 27 at Mira Road church Hall. A selected quality Konkani crowd enjoyed the drama from the beginning to the end. The actors mesmerized the crowd with their natural and class acting.

During the interval, Fr Melvin D Cunha (parish priest), president Digo Rodrigues, secretary Jerald D’Souza, treasurer Lawrence Mathias, cultural secretary Jossy Gonsalves were present on the dais to felicitate sponsors and well-wishers. Fr Melvin blessed the drama and stressed the people to teach Konkani to the children and all should watch and encourage such dramas whenever they get such opportunities. He honoured the main sponsor of the drama Antony Pereira and all the sponsors and well-wishers by offering them flower bouquets. St Joseph’s Konkani Welfare Association felicitated Christy Ninasam with a shawl and director Denis Monteiro and Clanvin Fernandes with flower bouquets.

The crowd was engrossed in the drama to the end and went home thoroughly enjoyed. Even after 40 years, ‘Anvkaar Mestri’ was true to the present day situations.

At the end of the drama, Christy and his team asked for the feedback on the drama from the crowd. Two opinions were received from the crowd. One said that a drama with such a wonderful acting, clear sound and clean Konkani language was seen for the first time in Mira Road. Another said, “We should thank the association for such a clean beautiful drama and awaiting to similar good dramas from this team.”
