Mangaluru, Oct 28: Forty-eight children of Infant Jesus Hostel, Kulshekar, were delighted by Johnlyn Toy and Book Exchange, Bondel, on Sunday, October 28 when they were presented with toy hampers and treated to refreshments by a team of volunteers led by its founder, John B Monteiro.
The program started with prayer song by the residents of the hostel, ranging in age from six to sixteen, followed by an abridged session of Bondel Laughter Club session anchored by its founder, John Monteiro. This was followed by a vibrant program of dance and song by the young residents of the hostel. The balikas were presented individual hampers of toys and books donated by scores of generous individuals and through collection boxes placed in schools and religious places.
Speaking on the occasion, John Monteiro said that Johnlyn Toys and Book Exchange was only a channel between those who have and those who have not and deserve to have and it would welcome generous and enlightened donors to be a channel of service.
