Mangaluru, Oct 27: VHP and Bajrang Dal have demanded the closure of Kudroli cow slaughterhouse and also to terminate MCC Commissioner Mohammed Nazir over the row.
Addressing media persons here on Saturday October 27, Bajrang Dal leader Sharan Pumpwell said," Cow slaughter has been taking place in the slaughter house at Kudroli for a long time. Every month as many as 200 cows have been slaughtered as revealed by an RTI application. In this regard a case has been registered at North police station.”
“Despite ban in the state, cow has been slaughtered illegally at Kudroli. Hence cow slaughter at Kudroli should be stopped and MCC should immediately terminate its commissioner Mohammed Nazir. As per the RTI, over 1800 animals have been slaughtered over the last six months; there are many illegal beef stalls which are functioning in the district. Government should act on this immediately,” he added.
Recently one Vinay L Shetty had complained to North Police station against MCC veterinary officer Kamalamma and MCC Commissioner Mohammed Nazir claiming that MCC have approved to slaughter buffalo, cows and calves.
Speaking to Daijiworld, MCC veterinary officer Kamalamma clarified that the allegation by them was false. “There is no illegal cow slaughter taking place,” she said.
She further said, "We only permit for the slaughtering after a proper examination and certification or else permission will not be given.”
