Mangaluru: Christian matrimonial web portal ‘Amoris’ launched

Mangaluru, Oct 26: Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, bishop of Mangaluru launched ‘Amoris Matrimony’ a Christian matrimony web portal on Friday, October 26.

Msgr Maxim Noronha, vicar general of Mangaluru diocese, Fr Vijay Victor Lobo, PRO, Mangaluru diocese, Fr Ligori Crasta, Fr Rayan Pais, and Fr Clifford were present at the launching ceremony which was held at the Bishop’s House.

Launching the portal, the bishop said, “This is a good news to the Christian community that they will have their own matrimony web portal. Definitely, it will help a large number of eligible grooms and brides to find suitable partner. The name ‘Amoris’ itself has a good meaning which is very close to love and happiness. We consider weddings as holy and divine. Hope Amoris Matrimony will help our youth to build a holy family life.”

Explaining the necessity of a web portal, Melwyn Manoj said, “One of my friends who faced difficulties to find a bride made me think about online matrimonial. I shared my idea with my close ones and all appreciated my thinking and supported me to set up a matrimonial web portal. We all know today's busy schedule and how our youths are facing difficulties to find suitable partners, especially those working abroad. Now ‘Amoris Matrimony’ will help them find partners without much hurdles.”

    Establishing a "Christian Matrimonial Web Portal Amoris" is a great initiative on the part of Mangalore Diocese. Thank you so much, dear Bishop Peter Paul for your insight on this genuine proposal that will benefit hundreds of young men and women of Mangalore to find suitable solutions in being acquainted with each other, and eventually end up with a successful conclusion.

    The "Marriage Dialog" in every community is a delicate issue and will involve various responsibilities. Nothing is going to be easy in this world, as far as marriage is concerned, but with the Christian virtues, the Diocese under your leadership will overcome various responsibilities, and there will be many "success stories" that will become part of our Christian society. There will be many successful families that will be blossomed in our Diocese as a result of your initiatives, and there will be many Christian families will come forward and extend their hand of help to you.

    We wish you best of success in all your efforts that you extend to our Diocese. You have a young team of Priests and Nuns who will also render their hand of help to the Diocese. There will be obviously some minor difficulties that will come on your way in the process of your intervention, but there is lot more to gain for the happy families, and also for the Diocese. You have an excellent team of young Priests that will come forward and give the very best to the community. Finally, God will be the best witness of all.
