Beltangady: Dr Veerendra Heggade completes 51 years as Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala

Beltangady, Oct 25: "The state government will extend wholehearted support for the success of ceremonial bath of Bahubali statue (Mahamastakabhisheka) proposed to be organized at Dharmasthala during February 2019. Development of roads connecting Dharmasthala has already been taken up, and the centre has sanctioned Rs 100 crore for developing the road between B C Road and Dharmasthala, work on which will begin soon," said state PWD minister, H D Revanna.

He was speaking after initiating road development works to the tune of Rs 23.5 core being undertaken by his department at a function organized at Dharmasthala to celebrate 51 years of Dr Veerendra Heggade's ascension as the Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala. The programme had been organized to dedicate newly constructed 'Manjusha Museum' to mark the occasion. The minister also felicitated Dr Heggade on behalf of the Coronation Golden Jubilee Committee and staff of Dharmasthala establishment.



Revanna noted that the museum which opened for the public on Wednesday happens to be a novel one in the entire country. He expressed undergoing a sense of gratefulness at having got the opportunity to take part in the celebration of 51st anniversary of taking over charge of this temple by Dr Heggade, who has undertaken works and projects which are normally executed by the government.

Dr Veerendra Heggade couple inaugurated Manjusha Museum. On this occasion, minister, U T Khader, released the CD titled 'Chinnada Hejje'. MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, released coffee table book, 'Swarna Darshana'. MLA, Harish Punja, released special edition of 'Niranthara' publication. The amount pooled together by the employees of the temple and citizens of the village was handed over to the minister for being credited to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. PWD engineer, Shivaprasad Ajila, provided the details of works.

Before the programme began, Dr Heggade was brought to the venue in a grand procession.

Sri Mohandas Paramahamsa Swamiji of Sridhama Manila, Rajya Sabha member, Oscar Fernandes, MLC, Harish Kumar, Blossom Fernandes, PWD chief engineer, R Srinivas, Beltangady taluk panchayat president, Divyajyothi, Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police, Dr Ravikanthe Gowda, Dr B Yashovarma, D Surendra Kumar and members of Dr Heggade's family were present.

D Harshendra Kumar welcomed the gathering. In his welcome address, Harshendra said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, had called Dr Heggade on Wednesday to greet him on the occasion. Dr L H Manjunath proposed vote of thanks. N R Damodara Sharma presented the programme.

On this occasion, Dr Veerendra Heggade announced some new initiatives like setting up of Naturopathy College at Nelamangala, new high school at Mangaluru, expansion of Ayurveda colleges at Udupi and Hassan and continuance of the medical college at Dharwad which has got the nod to become a university in the name of Lord Manjunatheshwara.

Hemavathi V Heggade, who released the book series titled 'Suvarna Sanchaya' gratefully recollected the time she spent in the company of her husband, who is creative and contemplative. On this occasion, writers of the series, Dr Chinnappa Gowda, Mallikarjun Hosapalya, Prof M A Hegde, Laxmi Machchina, Dr Padekallu Vishnu Bhat and Dr Choodamani Nandagopal were honoured.

    Good work always commendable, he has done lot of improvement as social service to people.
    We need more people like him in INDIA.

    If INDIA works on religious tolerance, unlike what is happening after the rise of BJP, infact BJP rose to power by deviding people on religious lines and we are seeing the result now.
    it is high time influential /respected people like Dharmadhikari also propogate religious tolerance for the well being of people.

    Nobody will gain from hatred, only politicians who sow seed of hatred benefit, at the end common people must work hard to meet his ends.
