Bangalore, Nov 10: Defending his reported absence from the Congress meets, Rajya Sabha member S M Krishna said since he underwent an operation on his arm in London, he could not attend the meets. “It is baseless to say that I am not participating in the meets with a permanent agenda,” he remarked.
Krishna was speaking to presspersons after inaugurating Journalists’ layout in Mysore on Sunday.“If others are taking me as an example to stay away from the meetings, they too need to an undergo operation,” he quipped.
On AICC General Secretary Margaret Alva’s ‘allegation,’ Krishna stated that there is a lot of process while distributing party ticket and they depend on certain situations.
However, it is much deliberated before providing the ticket to all those applicants claiming eligibility.
“The High Command’s decision on Margaret will reflect the impact of her comments on the High Command. Hence, I would not say anything,” he observed.
Margaret Alva’s comments and the debate surrounding it would not cast its impact on the election results, he stated.
