Mangaluru: First National Men's Kabaddi Championship for physically challenged in Dec

Mangaluru Oct 20: Kabaddi sport which was diminishing, has gained prominence since the inception of Kabaddi leagues in India. Moving one step further, Mangaluru is all set to witness First National Men's Kabaddi Championship for physically challenged.

Maatru Prathishtana in association with Karnataka State Physically Challenged Kabaddi Association will organise First National Men's Kabaddi Championship for physically challenged on December 15 and 16 at Mangala Stadium, which will be the first time in Mangaluru featuring national teams.

Teams from West Bengal, Jharkhand, Goa, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttarakand, Rajasthan, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka will be taking part in this two day tournament.

The tournament is being held with the sole intention of promoting the hidden talents of the physically challenged sports persons in India.

The Maatru Prathishtana is a registered organisation and recognised by government of Karnataka and is working for the empowerment of persons with disabilities. The organisation supports various activities which help the physically challenged people to come into mainstream and a special focus is given for the persons with disabilities from rural areas.

    My hats off to Maatru Prathishtana for organizing the First National Men's Kabaddi Championship for the physically challenged. This should be a great event and a challenge for all those taking part and also an encouragement for others who are physically handicapped in some way or the other. Good luck and God Bless.
