Vijayapura, Oct 20: In a case which came into the open with delay, an employee in the deputy commissioner's office here who handles files relating to the MPs Local Area Development Fund, identified as Galagali, and general secretary of a private educational institution, together created letter heads of the minister fraudulently, forged his signature, and drew nine requests for release of funds from the local area development funds of the MP.
A total of Rs 26 lac as found to have been drawn so far in this way.
Both the accused in this case stand arrested by the police.

File manager Galagali and official of the school Kashinath Gangaram Rathod from the city have been arrested.
As per the complaint, the two copied the letterhead of the minister, put fake signature that fairly matched with the minister's signature, and prepared letters requesting for release of funds to an educational institution for six different works conducted there. The minister was taken by surprise to know that he has been taken for a ride.
Several villagers had approached MP Ramesh Jigajinagi and complained to him that funds sanctioned to different works in their village had not been released as yet. The minster then asked his personal assistant to obtain full details of grants sanctioned and released out his local area fund. He then found that funds had been diverted to different works about which he did not have any knowledge. After a detailed scrutiny, he found that his fake letterheads were used and funds were misused for six works. Thereafter, his personal assistant filed complaint in the Gandhi Chowk police station on October 17.
