Udupi, Oct 14: Catholic Sabha Kota Parish Unit felicitated on October 7 two residents of Kota for their proud achievement. One was Kota Srinivasa Poojary, a BJP MLC in Karnataka Legislative Assemby, who was made recently leader of Opposition in the Upper House. Second achiever was Alwyn Quadros, who was elected as the president of Central Council of Catholic Sabha, Udupi Pradesh in June.
Around 150 citizens, Hindus, Muslims and Christians, of Kota gathered at the Kota Church premises and appreciated the achievements of these two gentlemen. Dr A D’Lima, parish priest of Kota honoured them with garlanding and presenting shawl, peta, fruits and a felicitation letter. Juliana D’Souza, vice president of the parish, Sri Michael Pinto, president Kundapur Varado unit of Catholic Sabha, Vanitha Achary, president of Kota panchayat were present on the dais. Harold Fernandes, president of the Kota Unit of Catholic Sabha presided.
In the beginning, Valearian Menezes explained the purpose of the meet. Saira Quadros rendered the vote of thanks. Nora D’Souza and Janice Rodrigues compered.
