Sullia, Oct 14: Shree Vidyaprasannatheertha Swamiji, seer of Samputa Shri Narasimha Swamy Math of Subramanya near here began a fast from Saturday, October 13 against the accusations by certain individuals against the functioning of the Math.

"This fast is not against anyone. Just because of the mental agony," said the seer. The seer further said that his intention is that the relations between the Subramanya temple and the Math should be cordial.

The seer further said, "There is a Goshala in the Math. We used to procure the water that was flowing naturally from the hill for the Goshala. Recently, some people have made this stop. Due to this we are unable to provide water to the cows. It is causing problems for our rituals also,"

"Though we are giving all co-operation to the development of the road of the temple, false propaganda against us is still continuing. Certain areas that were de-notified earlier have been stayed by the court and the stay is still not taken off. If a joint application put to mark the areas, we will immediately provide such places for the development of the road to the Kukke Subramanya temple."

"Certain individuals accused against the services that are offered in the Math including the 'Sarpasanskara'. The administration committee of the Subramanya temple had clarified that the temple does not have any Math or Mandir controlled by it. Even after all these clarifications, certain devotees who are for the Math and temple had registered cases against each other in the police station," the swamiji resented.

Pejawar Shree calls for calling off fast

"I am greatly concerned as I came to know that Sree Vidyaprasannatheertha Swamiji has resorted to fasting due to the harassment meted out towards the Subramanya Math. As soon as the Navarathri celebrations get over, I will go to Subramanya and contact al the concerned and try to resolve the matter," said seer of Pejawar Math, Shree Vishweshateertha Swamiji.
