Udupi, Oct 14: The district BJP has set October 15 as deadline to solve sand issues and warned protest if sand is not provided after that.
Addressing reporters on Saturday, BJP district president Mattaru Rathnaker Hegde said that decision on further protests will be taken if the district administration does not provide sand by October 15 as per assurance by chief minister Kumaraswamy.
“The cooperation of builders, engineers and workers will be sought in the non-party campaign under the leadership of BJP. Our request is to follow law and provide sand,” he said.
“The Lok Sabha election code of conduct for election of president and vice president in local elections should be confined to Byndoor taluk. The deputy commissioner has assured that elections will be held on government orders. BJP is fully prepared for 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Priority for cleanliness, Atal Kavyanjali/Karyanjali, campaign on his life history, blood donation camp, 150 km walk at the rate of 10 km walk per day in every Vidhan Sabha constituency and national unity run on October 31 are scheduled,” he informed.
“BJP will win with record number of votes in Shivamogga Lok Sabha elections. BJP had won by 25,000 votes in 2018 Vidhan Sabha elections. It will win with a margin of 50,000 votes this time,” he expressed confidence.
“Shivamogga by elections are announced though they were not expected. BJP candidate B Y Raghavendra is not new. He was MP once. BJP has got seven seats out of eight in Shivamogga. Congress and JD(S) candidates are not decided yet for Mandya, Bellary and Shivamogga. It Shows that they do not have support in Shivamogga,” he said.
He further said that elections, rains and the poll conduct have derailed the developmental activities in the district.
