Udupi, Oct 13: Twenty Bulbul and 28 Cub, tiny tot students of Nirmala English Medium School, Brahmavar went on Dasara study tour on Friday, third day of Dasara October 12.
The excursion commenced in the company of school principal Fr Josly D'Silva and teachers Anuradha, Sharada and Sandhya after prayers. They reached the horticulture center. The staff at the center gave information about different pets, vegetable, pulses, machines used for sowing and harvesting. The group had soft drinks, continued their excursion and reached Neelavara byre. The vast byre there stunned them. They later entered Kalingamardana temple and prayed. Children were glad to play with different breed of cattle in the byre.
The group later entered Neelavara Mahisha Mardini temple on the banks of Seeta river. They relished special Navarathri meals there and reached Sooral palace. They relaxed in the cool beauty of nature there and went to Barkur railway station. As it was time for Matsyaganda train to leave, children were able to see the train from a close distance. The teachers explained about the train.
The group visited dark Jain temple at Barkur in the end. The history of 12th century pillars made the children enthusiastic. They left from there and reached their school ground. Though the children looked tired, the joy of knowing new things could be seen in them. They completed the excursion with content.
