Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Oct 12: The fishing boats, which had been moored at Malpe port since October 4 after the meteorological department warned of cyclone, left for fishing since Wednesday October 10.

As there was no sign of the cyclone as predicted, over 200 deep sea boats left for fishing activity. By Thursday, over 600 boats went for fishing. If the environment is conducive, all the other boats will be leaving for sea today and tomorrow.

The sea has been rough in places like Maravanthe, Udyavar, Ullal etc. However, no such phenomenon has been noticed in Malpe, said Malpe Fishermen's Association president, Satish Kunder.
