Udupi, Oct 11: JCI Udyavar Kutpadi as part of Jaycee week held a competition of cooking without fire for women on district level at Saundarya auditorium, Udyavar recently.
Holy Cross Church Pamboor parish priest Fr Paul Rego inaugurated the programme by preparing juice in a mixie. He commended the unique programme of JCI Udyavar and appreciated the enthusiasm of women during Navaratri.
District panchayat member Geethanjali Suvarna, Jayadurga Parameshwari temple Kannarpadi trustee Lion Nirupama Prasad, senior Jaycees Udupi president S N R Navin Ameen and zonal vice president Jaycee Akshata Girish expressed their appreciation for the programme and wished it well.
JCI Udyavar Kutpadi unit president Jaycee Stevan Colaco presided over the programme. Secretary Jaycee Ragavendra, Jaycerette president Jaycee Roshni Colaco, director of week Jaycee Supreet Suvarna were on the dais.
Vivian Pereira Udyavar, Mamatha Udupi and Revati Nadiger Manipal were the judges.
Fourteen women's teams from Udupi took part in the competition. They prepared different types of Chutney juice, Salad and various dishes on the occasion. First prize was won by Veera Pinto and team Sasthan, second prize by Chitrakshi and team Padubidri and third prize by Vanitha Upadhyaya and team Kota.
Yaycee Vijaya Kumar Udyavar, Jaycee Santhosh Kumar, Jaycee Shanker Poojary, Pratap Kumar Udyavar, programme director Jaycee Ramesh Kumar, Jaycee Ramesh Acharya, Jaycee Prem Menenzes and others were present.
