Mangaluru: Strong storm affects coastal region, residents in Ullal, Someshwar in danger

Mangaluru, Oct 10: Several areas in Ullal, Someshwar and Uchila in Dakshina Kannada district have been affected by turbulent sea waves following cyclone in Arabian Sea.

Several families have been living in fear as the sea water has started to enter their houses.

The heavy tides showed up on Wednesday, October 10 due to cyclonic storm ‘Titli’ that has moved towards the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border.

The meteorological department has warned the fishermen not to venture into the sea as the sea condition is rough. There department has also predicted heavy rainfall in the coast.

    Why Government is allowing to construct buildings that much close to sea ? Is there any body to check? All Politicians are visiting after the tragedy, but can't they visit regularly and check?

    In ancient India every Cyclone was named. Indians left it late. Please check the history.America started naming it now. Day is not late when we say Basmati Rice is from America if we stop cultivating Basmati in our soil. Already many are saying Gir is from Brazil. Few fools believe that too.

    For god sake residents of ullal and uchila please do not do unwanted things at this hour. Let storm stops at least. Do you not realise how risky to build home near sea shore. Eeda gali barpund.
