Mangaluru, Oct 10: The charges against a degree student of a private college in city of assaulting the principal have been proved on Tuesday, October 9.
Mohammed Shahnawaz (22), a third year BBA student, is the accused.
Shahnawaz had attacked the principal for trying to discipline him for not attending classes regularly, two years ago.
A murder attempt case was registered at Bunder police station under IPC 324 and 504 in this regard and police sub-inspector Madan had submitted the chargesheet. The judge Nerale Veerabhadrayya found the accused guilty after the trail. The court has reserved the verdict.
In a shocking incident, the student had assaulted the principal and ran away from the college premises on October 20, 2016. Mohammed Shahnawaz was warned earlier by the principal to attend the classes regularly as he had shortage of attendance. The principal had also told the student that without the adequate attendance, he would not be allowed to appear for exams.
