Udupi, Oct 9: JD(S) State Vice President M Ganganna has denied problems within the party or in the coalition with the Congress.
Addressing a press meet at Udupi on Tuesday, October 9, he claimed Kumaraswamy is innocent as well as backed his ‘revolt against BJP’ statement. “There was nothing wrong. The statement was misinterpreted by the BJP,” he alleged.
“JD(S) as a party has grown independently. I have been serving with Devegowda, as his colleague since 38 years. Congress and JD(S) are two faces of one coin,” he said.
Speaking on his two day visit in Udupi, he asserted the need to strengthen the grass root level as well as agreed that some problems have solutions at the state level.
“It is come to my notice that the public are facing obstacles from Urban Development Authority. I will collect the information from the party leaders regarding this. I will address the problem and bring it to notice of the CM,” he said.
Most of the political leaders, who changed party for the sake of power, happen to be the disciples of former Prime Minister Deve Gowda. We had hopes of getting a seat in Udupi, but we failed to get even one.
Speaking on CM waiving debt loans of farmers, he said “the CM has announced a waiver of Rs 48,000 crore worth farmer loans. Cheques are being issued to the societies.” Denying commenting on Yeddyurappa’s statements on loan waiver, he said Yeddyurappa knows better the challenges and hurdles to waive debt loans.
“A survey was conducted on fruit rot disease of areca nut; those beneficiaries will definitely get compensation. CM has directed officials to collect details about those beneficiaries within 15 days,” said M Ganganna
District president of JD(S) Yogish Shetty claimed the opposition party is creating confusion among public regarding farmers debt waiver. “The farmers should submit Aadhar card and ration card and should fill up an application before November 10. If once they submit application, they will get debt free certificate from the government,” he said.
Raising the issue of sand mining, Yogish Shetty said, “CM Kumaraswamy had a meeting with MLAs, MLCs and mining department officials of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi regarding sand shortage problem. There are some technical issues, but DC has to take up action on traditional sand mining. If the issue is not sorted then a situation might come that the ruling party will stage protest.”
Regarding tollgate construction on Padubidre-Karkala road, he said the resolution was taken during the Yeddyurappa government. We will bring it to the notice of CM. People should not face problem, he said.
Vasudev Rao, district executive president, Deepak, Iliyaz, Pradeep and others were present.
