Bengaluru, Oct 9: Women are leading in the appointment of 33 posts of civil judges in the judiciary of the state. A record 20 women were appointed for the posts this time. Only the remaining 13 posts have gone to men. There is a young lady among the 20 women appointed for the posts.
Chaitra V Kulkarni of Nandaragi village, Indi taluk, Vijayapura has achieved the feat. She has got the post at her age of just 26 years. She resides in Bagalkote at present. She was a practicing advocate after her BA LLB and LLM and has been appointed as a judge.
Her father, Dr Vasanth Kulkarni is a director of Sabala Company and assistant lecturer at Bagalkote SRN arts and MBS Commerce College.
Karnataka High court had invited applications for 33 vacancies of judges in the department of judiciary. Chaitra had applied for it. She had passed in the preliminary examination in April and main examination held in July.
33 candidates were selected in the interview of 86 candidates held on September 19. As she was successful in it, she has been appointed as judge. More than four thousand applications were received for the post of judges. 946 candidates had appeared for main examination.
Chaithra V Kulkarni and other candidates are waiting for assignment of places at present.
