Bengaluru, Oct 9: The police have registered first information report (FIR) against water resources minister, D K Shivakumar, on the allegation of illegally erecting flexes.
After the high court sternly told Bengaluru Bruhat Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to remove unauthorized advertisement boards and flexes which have mushroomed in the city, BBMP had begun a drive to remove them. During the operation, the officials found that an advertisement boarding existed at Pantarapalya in a land belonging to minister, D K Shivakumar. The Palike officials had served notice to the minister, asking him to remove the hoarding. But he did not do the needful.
Therefore, BBMP official, Mutturaj, complained to Byatarayanapura police station. The police have registered the FIR under Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act. A senior official later said that the hoarding was removed after the FIR was registered, and the BBP officials will be filing final report to the court in this issue.
