Davanagere, Oct 8: National president of Sri Ram Sene, Pramod Muthalik, has urged the union government to promulgate an ordinance to restore traditions, religious rituals and other customs associated with Lord Ayyappa shrine at Sabarimala.
Addressing a press meet here on Sunday October 7, Muthalik noted that traditions and religious rituals which were in vogue at Sabarimala since the last 1,400 years have now been shattered.
He therefore felt that the central government should intervene in the matter, pave way for discussions in the parliament, and restore religious observations and other procedures to which Sabarimala temple was associated with all these years, by way of an ordinance.
He felt that that the Supreme Court could have delivered a judgement like it did in the base of Bababudangiri Datta Peetha standoff, and ordered to resolve the issue by religious scholars and Pundits.
