Mangaluru, Oct 8: The meteorological department observed that the depression in air pressure created over the Arabian Sea has currently been moving towards Oman. It said that on account of its change of direction, the likelihood of it affecting Dakshina Kannada and other coastal Karnataka areas are remote.
The department however, noted that the depression might turn into cyclone if the waves gain in momentum. Therefore, it has warned the fishermen not go into the sea for fishing till October 10. During the next two days, the coastal districts might get rainfall coupled with thunder, it said.
The low air pressure area in the sea that has converted into cyclone is moving towards Kerala, the department warned. It said that this cyclone is likely to enter Kerala in the next 36 hours, which might result in thunderstorms in Kerala as well as Tamil Nadu.
