Bahrain, Oct 7: Karnataka NRI (KNRI) Forum, Bahrain, which has the objectives to carryout welfare activities for the non-resident Kannadigas in Bahrain, functioning under the governmental aegis of Karnataka NRI Forum, Bengaluru, is all set to host a mega cultural fest titled ‘Kannada Dindima’ (Poetic Version – Bang the Kannada Drum) on October 12 under the patronage of The Indian Club.
The unique variety entertainment event also includes the installation of the forum’s newly formed maiden executive committee headed by the Karnataka State confirmed Chairman Leeladhar Baikampady, an eminent non-resident Kannadiga in Bahrain and multiple national and international awards winning social and charity worker, youth organizer and cultural coordinator.
“Almost 20 versatile artistes are flying in from India and most of them are brilliant television artistes and also have travelled extensively to give performances on international platforms. We are very lucky to have them for the Dindima event here and the audience are also really excited to see all such gifted artistes on single stage who all can set the stage on fire throughout the mega show,” said KNRI Forum chairman Leeladhar Baikampady.
Karnataka’s renowned mimic and standup comedian Mimicry Gopi, popular mega magic star and India’s Got Talent reality show finalist Kudroli Ganesh, widely performed famous folk and multi-form singers Go Na Swamy and Pushpa Aradhya, multitalented traditional singer and humourist Thonse Pushkal Kumar, wonderful painting artist Kotegadde Ravi (Fidelitus Gallery Bengaluru), well-known multi-form dancer Vidushi Sathyavathi K R & Troupe [Pushkara Bengaluru] and promising saxophonist Theerthashree Damodar and troupe are those artistes who would present highly unique variety entertainment events in ‘Kannada Dindima’, which will be undoubtedly considered to be the rarest of its kind in Bahrain. All apart, a talented television and mega show presenter Anusha Bangalore will do the anchoring job.
In addition, the Indian School Band will perform welcome drills, local Kannadigas group will present patriotic songs and also various Kannada and community associations will give variety dance performances. “Hence, the overall fest includes music, songs, arts, dances, comedy, mimicry, humour, painting and magic show. This sort of diverse combination of entertainment is totally innovative and astonishing for the Kannadigas in Bahrain”, says the KNRI Forum Chairman Leeladhar Baikampady.
Meanwhile, well-known stage, small screen and silver screen artist and also the former president of Kannada Abhivriddhi Pradhikara – Karnataka, Mukhya Mantri Chandru will grace the event as inaugurator and a widely admired mass leader cum Karnataka’s Minister for Housing & Urban Development U T Khader will participate as the Chief Guest of the event. Also, as local Kannadiga representative Subhas Chandra [CFO – Diyar, Bahrain] will attend this wonderful cultural fest as a guest of honour.
“Kannada Dindima is totally a new concept in land – language – culture sort of fest as related to Kannadigas and it is undoubtedly a much-awaited event for them. Our Kannadigas since a long time longed for this kind of event and finally the time has come for them to view it with all passion and pleasure. As we surveyed the pre-event response of the proposed audience, we are sure, it will be a jam-packed spectacular show and all will have a relaxed & refreshed weekend with fun, frolic and quality entertaining events”, further briefed the KNRI Forum chairman Leeladhar Baikampady.
The Dindima, which is dubbed as the first state festival of non-resident Kannadigas in Bahrain will commence at 3.00 pm sharp with the art-show arranged for the school children and then continue with the much exciting stage performances from 4:00 pm onwards.
