Kundapur: Suspect of receiving bribe acquitted

Kundapur, Oct 5: A village accountant who was accused of receiving bribe from the beneficiary of land account transfer has been acquitted by Kundapur court on Thursday.

A charge sheet was submitted at Kundapur court by Lokayukta inspector B P Dinesh under relevant sections against Abdul Rehman Byari, Beejadi village accountant. The then tahsildar Raju Mogaveera and deputy commissioner Hemalatha had testified. A recorded conversation about receipt of bribe was also presented in court, but advocate Ravikiran Murdeshwar argued in favour of the suspect that the proof is not sufficient enough to prove the guilt. Justice Prakash Khaderi has acquitted the suspect.
