Madikeri, Oct 3: Mundody Nanda Nanaiah who reportedly gunned down Kanadka Tilak Raj from Maragodu village and then tried to flee was arrested by the police in a swift operation.
It is said that Nanda Nanaiah, after firing at and killing Tilak Raj, parked the Renault Duster vehicle he had used during the murder at his home and made arrangements to flee by motor bike along with a gun and live ammunition.
As soon as a case was registered about this murder, district superintendent of police guided two separate teams to nab the culprit. One of them was led by Madikeri deputy superintendent of police, Sundar Raj, while the other was led by DCIB inspector, Mahesh. The team led by Sundar Raj succeeded in putting together the information and arrested the accused. The revolver used for the crime, live bullets, a Duster vehicle and a motor bike were recovered.
