Mangaluru, Oct 2: The annual parish feast of Guardian Angels Church Angelore was celebrated in an atmosphere of devotion and gaiety on Tuesday October 2.
Prior to the solemn concelebrated festal mass, Fr William Menezes, the parish priest distributed ‘candles of Honour’ to all the members of the Parish Pastoral Council, gurkars and representatives of the wards, presidents of different parish associations, those who had contributed toward the feast and also the sponsors of the annual feast.
Roshan Patrao, vice president of the Parish Pastoral Council and Dora Rodrigues, secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, read out the list of names. Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza, Bishop Emeritus, diocese of Mangaluru celebrated the solemn festal mass. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, preached the homily, Fr Matthew Vas, Fr Benjamin Pinto, Fr James Dsouza, Fr Denis Dsouza, Fr Victor Dsouza, Fr Vijay Lobo, Fr Benjamin Dsouza and others were present.
Fr William Menezes greeted the priests and the parishoners and thanked everyone for their contribution, participation and co-operation. Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza extended the festal greetings to Fr William Menezes and all the parishioners. A number of devotees were found lighting candles near the statue of Guardian Angel in front of the church. The stall of ICYM with a variety of lucky games was the chief attraction for the feast revelers.
