Moodbidri, Sep 26: Construction of houses in Moodbidri town has become easier, as in a special order, the director of Karnataka Town Planning Board has approved the rules for Mangalore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) zonal regulation for Moodbidri Town Municipal Council. Thanks to Moodbidri MLA Umanath Kotian who has been credited for putting in extra efforts in solving issues.
According to sources, residents of Moodbidri faced many problems to get approval to construct their own house or building due to complicated rules and regulations.

Till now, Bantwal zonal regulations were being applied for constructions in Moodbidri. Since four years, only few got the approval to construct their houses. Others who have applied are supposedly running from pillar to post to get approval.
MLA Umanath Kotian took special interest in solving the issue and in the past two months he met various officials such as district-in-charge minister, director of Town Planning Board and succeeded in getting a special order to implement MUDA Zonal Regulation.
Confirming the order with Daijiworld, MLA Umanath said, “As per order now all construction and conversions around Moodbidri municipal council comes under MUDA Zonal Regulation. Hence the MUDA Mangaluru rules will apply to Moodbidri, which will help people to get approval for constructing houses and buildings in their site without legal tussles. I am thankful to the director of Town Planning Board for his quick action regarding this. It is a relief to the people who plan to construct houses and dropped the idea due to tough rules.“
