Mangaluru: Property Card compulsory from January in MCC limits

Mangaluru, Sep 21: Sasikanth Senthil, deputy commissioner (DC) of Dakshina Kannada district said that the Property Card (UPOR or Urban Property Ownership Record) will become compulsory from January 1, 2018, for properties under Mangaluru City Corporation limits (MCC).

Giving further details of property card, he said, "This is being implemented in 32 revenue villages under the MCC limits and is compulsory from January 1, 2019. In the first month, this card will be made compulsorily implemented in two revenue villages and subsequently will be extended to all other revenue villages in the next two months. The collection of records will start from the month of October and information will be available on the website also,"

"Additional staff is assigned for this job and the owners of properties under MCC limits have to provide necessary property records in order to obtain the Property Card. The public is requested to cooperate with the administration in order to implement this process smoothly," he added.

"Property Card will be compulsory and official document in future for all the dealings related to the property. So P R card will be the complete and authentic documents with regards to property. Even people who own apartments will get UPOR or P R card," Sasikanth informed.

    getting property card is not difficult at all , more over its a property book, there is no card. Make sure all your documents are correct then its just few hours job, no money required, problem among Indians is they grumble a lot, most peoples has no proper document then they blame the system, guys first spend some time and make all your paperwork in order, One final question, property card required for flat as well ?

    Can the corporation/concerned department put out ads or on their website a list of the documents required? Like the passport application, they can also create appointment slots online in their website so that people need not waste their working time.
    Also, is this the final be all and end all document for owning property or there will be more to follow?

    Can this be challenged in courts? Arent the revenue records not enough? And what was that khata and E-khata for? Next year they will come up with another card.
    There will not be enough counters. People manning the counters will not themselves know what to do except to extort money. only 1 or 2 computers will wok or the servers will be down.
    People will spend their working lives standing in queue and at the end get nothing.
    our elected representatives will sit behind and enjoy the fun.

    All the required documents are in talk office and MCC. They can print the property card and send to the property owners. By the way what is the use of this property card ? Who bear the expenses ? MCC require this card ? Let the MCC dept pay for this since they want to organise and make the things easy for them. Or are they getting the things done at peoples' cost ? This is a kind of cheating .

    Unless the building societies provide required documentation to the property office, individual flat owners can never get the property card done.

    Dear DC sir, MCC should send a copy of the property records as they have, to the property holders. If there's correction of any sort, people will come to the centers for change. If not, the card can be done and posted to the owners. The due fees can be collected in cash on delivery mode.

    This will save lines, travel and unnecessary travel for majority.

    Please think of efficient, time and effort saving methods, than the same old application, questions, agent and below the table process.

    What happens to an NRI like me , who has case going on for "property partition" for the last 17 years in Mangalore court?
    Also illegally sold land of mine , without my permission, which is also in the same case in court for 'partition" of probated will, with apartments ALREADY built & OCCUPIED in Kodialbail and Urwa, whose name will they be once the partition is approved?

    My relative wanted to purchase a huge flat in posh Lalbagh area from its owner, but the owner of land was avoiding to give the certain land documents as requested by legal opinion lawyer. Hence the deal was cancelled. The same flat was then sold to an NRI, who didn't bother about legal opinion. He might face the consequences later.

    Only lookwise but not feel it when u stay.U have to run around this center many times and most of the time computers will be out of order.If u r lucky u may get it after paying around Rs.1000/-This is one more type of extracting money from the owners.
