Mangaluru, Sep 21: Sasikanth Senthil, deputy commissioner (DC) of Dakshina Kannada district said that the Property Card (UPOR or Urban Property Ownership Record) will become compulsory from January 1, 2018, for properties under Mangaluru City Corporation limits (MCC).
Giving further details of property card, he said, "This is being implemented in 32 revenue villages under the MCC limits and is compulsory from January 1, 2019. In the first month, this card will be made compulsorily implemented in two revenue villages and subsequently will be extended to all other revenue villages in the next two months. The collection of records will start from the month of October and information will be available on the website also,"
"Additional staff is assigned for this job and the owners of properties under MCC limits have to provide necessary property records in order to obtain the Property Card. The public is requested to cooperate with the administration in order to implement this process smoothly," he added.
"Property Card will be compulsory and official document in future for all the dealings related to the property. So P R card will be the complete and authentic documents with regards to property. Even people who own apartments will get UPOR or P R card," Sasikanth informed.
