Mangalore, Oct 26: The new building of Nitte Gulabi Shetty Memorial Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Paneer, Deralakatte, was inaugurated by B Sambamurthy, chairman and managing director of Corporation Bank, recently.

On this occasion, Sambamurthy highlighted the importance of professional education in the overall development of the country. He advised the students to update their knowledge according to the needs of the society and appreciated the efforts of the Nitte Education Trust in establishing quality conscious education institutions.

N Vinaya Hegde, president, Nitte Education Trust and chancellor of Nitte University, detailed the significance of scientific research facilities and infrastructure facilities in the present educational system. He advised the students to inculcate good habits and qualities in their professional life.

Other dignitaries who were present included Dr M Shantharam Shetty, vice-chancellor, Nitte University , Vishal Hegde, trustee, Nitte Education Trust, and Prof D Satyanarayana, director (PG Studies and Research). Prof E V S Subrahmanyam, principal, Nitte Gulabi Shetty Memorial Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, welcomed the gathering. Prof R Narayana Charyulu proposed the vote of thanks.
