Fuel prices clock record high: Petrol at Rs 86.25 in Mumbai, highest for any metro

New Delhi/Mumbai, Sep 3 (Zee News): Fuel prices continued to rise on Monday, with petrol and diesel prices touching a new record high in several metropolitan cities, including Delhi and Mumbai.

In Mumbai, the petrol was being sold at Rs 86.56/litre, up by Rs 0.31/litre -- the highest ever for any metro city. Diesel was at Rs 75.54/litre, up by Rs 0.44/litre.

In the national capital, petrol prices touched Rs 79.15/litre and diesel was at Rs 71.15/litre. The price of petrol increased by Rs 0.31 per litre while that of diesel was hiked by Rs 0.39 per litre.

On Sunday, retail rates of fuel had witnessed a hike with petrol being sold at Rs 78.84 per litre and diesel at Rs 70.76 per litre in New Delhi.

Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan assured that rise in the fuel prices in the country is temporary.

It's necessary to bring international factors in line to curb the surge in prices, Pradhan added.

"Both the international factors are not in our hand. OPEC had said to increase the production of oil by one million barrel per day but it has been two months (July and August) but they have not done this so far. The situation in Iran has also made situation tensed and they are also a factor for the hike in fuel prices," he said.

Fuel prices continued to rise on Sunday, with petrol and diesel prices touching a new record high in several metropolitan cities, including Delhi and Mumbai.Earlier also Pradhan had said the rise in crude oil price in the international market and devaluation of the Indian rupee against the US Dollar were responsible for the hike in fuel prices in the country.

Stop spreading lies about the #Rupee. The average Indian earns an average of 2 dollars per day.
    2 $ during UPA = Rs. 126/-
    2 $ during NDA = Rs. 141/-

Modiji has ensured the poor earn Rs. 15/- more every day. Absolute genius!

Indians are very happy to absorb the hikes. and therefore, none expresses unhappiness. No People leaders are crying or questions the concerned. Anyway Indian economy is going up, so hike dosen't matter, as this will also contribute to make Fuel companies rich and economy better.

Un controlled fuel price would make life difficult for a common or low incomed earners. Rich no problem they even maintain 2-3 cars in a fly. And as physical exercise its self-determination and awareness to control fatty foods and regular exercise. Even ground exercise. How the celebrities maintain their physic in a shape in spite of that they are well to do.
Such advice should reach the politicians who live & lead a luxurious life style!

Actually speaking, hiking fuel prices is a very good move by Modi. People should give up using bikes and cars and start walking. Many are developing health problems due to lack of exercise. This will certainly increase the national health index of India and Modi will be hailed globally for this innovative thinking.

I was discussing this with a Bhakt......
He said me some fascinating things.... He explained me Why Fuel prices are High....
    1) He said Its first time after independence... Modi has not availed any loans from World Bank....
    2) Modi Cleared all debts made by previous govt....
    3) Earlier UPA govt was extracting some imp minerals from crude oil & then it was exporting it to Italy..... So we were getting useless petrol... Our Vehicle was not giving enough mileage......
But Modi is providing us pure form of fuel....

Noticeable point was... He was a well educated person... Has done Engineering....

After Hearing him , I felt are Bhakts eating Rice or...........

Was the bullet train really needed at IR 1,10,000 crore loan from Japan? when around 800 rajdhanis could be procured at the same price?

The bullet train is certainly one of the many woes why we see the Indian Rupee sinking lower to the $. To add to all the woes, the project cost has increased by another 6160 crore rupees within a year.

So does Modi and the BJP cronies understand where all these lakhs of Crores of rupees come from?

NO the Ambanis, Adanis, etc., etc., don't pay a paisa.... all these lakhs of crores of rupees come from the hard earned bloodied money of the poor and the middle class who now have to fund the extra bill from gas stations. And for all that you want to know; how much did someone make of the 116160 crores rupee bullet train project?

This is how our Indian rupee and India continues to be raped.

No issues, it's still less than bhakths' target of 100 and moreover our elected law makers and baboos are entitled to lot of free fuel at tax payers' expense. Therefore as usual common man's woes will remain as cyr in the wilderness. Clueless bhakths are totally satisfied with the explanation that hike is due to removal of subsidies!

First time since Independence, price and taxes of everything is the highest ever!!!. Maybe this is the price we have to pay if we want a clean corruption free and 18 hours per day working governmentt....!!!!!!!!
