Bangalore, Oct 21: Ex-chief minister H D Kumaraswami, speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the inaugural function of the National Political Education and Training Institute at Bharatiya vidyabhavan on Sunday October 19, stressed that he refuses to be bogged down by the defamation case filed by the chief minister(CM) against him. "I have evidences to show that the allegation of corruption made by me against the CM are true. Therefore, I do not wilt under such threats," he added.
Irregularities have occured in the contract given to Maverick Holdings. How can it become defamation if it is exposed publicly? he ridiculed. Such tactics fail to pin me down, he stated. "I welcome the move of the government in appointing a special public prosecutor to pursue the defamation case against me. I am prepared to face any inquiry on this issue," he declared.
"Chief minister Yeddyurappa is engaged in hate politics since the day he rose to power. He has now targetted me. For politically finish me, he is using the defamation case," Kumaraswami felt. He also lampooned the chief minister for being under the impression that he can do anything as long as he has power in his hands.
Kumaraswami complained, that the engineering college sanctioned to Hoovina Hadagali was recently shifted to Bellary. "The government is ensuring that no development works are executed in the constituencies of the JD(S) legislators. Is this justified," he questioned. Moves such as these, meant to tame the opposition leaders, will eventually fail, he predicted.
