Mangalore, Oct 20: A programme to felicitate the recently retired managing director of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) Rajamani was organized by the South Kanara District Chess Association (SKDCA) and Bharat Vikas Parishat jointly along with 'Nammavaru' organization at Sharada Vidyalaya in the city.

In his introductory address, president of SKDCA M S Gururaj said that Rajamani during his 38 years service always used opportunities in which he could be of help to the society in the field of education, health and sports.

Officials like Rajamani who are pro-society, contribute to the strengthening of the society, said the Director of Mangalore Airport M R Vasudev, who presided over the function.

Accepting the honour, Rajamani said that he will carry the sweet memories of his 15 years of work experience in the city. He expressed his gratefulness to the people of the city for their trust and love towards him.

General manager of MRPL Lakshminarayana, deputy general manager of Canara Bank M M Kudva, chief general manager of Corporation Bank Narendra etc. were present on the occasion.
