Mangalore, Oct 18: A case was filed with the Suratkal police station and a New Life activist was arrested by the policemen thereof, for his alleged attempt for religious conversion on Friday October 17.
The accused Dilip Stephen Peirera (36), a resident of Akashbhavan, who is suspected to be a New Life activist, was arrested. The accused is said to be a friend of Rajesh, son of Kashinath M Naik, resident of Katipalla fourth Block and an employee of Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilisers.
On reaching home from work in the afternoon after finishing first shift, Kashinath found that Stephen was preaching his wife and children on the contents of the Bible. The accused was produced in the court.
