Bangalore, Oct 18: "There are terrorists among Hindus and Muslims. If the situation prevails, Christianity too might witness this phenomenon," warned JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda.
He was commenting after giving a word of advice for the Hindu religious heads. Criticizing a delegation of Swamijis which met the governor in the recent past in support of the BJP government, he drew their attention to the fact that "the society will not automatically witness progress, if the Swamijis wear golden crowns and are taken through processions on palanquins".
His remarks came at a press conference held here on Thursday October 16, where he spoke of his party's electoral understanding with the Congress.
"Religious conversions cannot be stalled, as long as poverty prevails. In Tamilnadu, dalits get converted to Islam. The Swamijis, instead of coming to the rescue of the government, should work towards eradicating poverty," Gowda advised.
