Mangalore, Oct 13: MLA and chairman of Karnataka Industrial Development and Investment Corporation Yogish Bhat opined that spiritual awareness can alone be a lasting remedy for the social evils plaguing the country. "I have been greatly influenced by the thinking of Mata Amruthanandamayee (Amma)," he added.
Speaking at the 55th birthday celebrations of Amma organized at the Amrutha Vidyalaya in Boloor in the city on Sunday October 12, he said, peace has settled down in the society, due to the blessings and kindness showered by 'Amma,' and that the institutions set up under her guidance have been relentlessly serving the society.
He also stressed that his earlier announcement to release Rs 10 lac from out of his MLA development fund quota for the extension of the Amrutha Vidyalaya building is binding on him.
High Court advocate Jagadish Mudaragi inaugurated the 'Amruthakrupa Nidhi' programme. Local head of Mata Amruthanandamayee Math, Mangalamrutha Chaitanya was present.
