Mangaluru: BJP leader, Santosh Rai Boliyar, blames Khader for Thokkottu flyover delay

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jul 29: Santosh Rai Boliyar, BJP Mangaluru assembly constituency unit president, has accused minister and local MLA, U T Khader, of being directly responsible for the delay in work on Thokkottu flyover.

Addressing a press meet at Thokkottu on Friday July 27, he said that the MLA had stopped the work six years back by bringing together a gang of party workers. "It is the duty of the government to acquire land for the highway. But the local MLA followed delaying tactics in this aspect too.  As the then Congress government blocked the bank accounts of Navayuga Infrastructure company which is executing the highway works, the company is facing financial crisis. Work was stopped as the then government did not pass the bill for the work done. Now, the central government has released funds for the work. Our MP, Nalin Kumar Kumar, who has expressed resentment at the slow progress of work, even after providing funds, has brought this to the notice of minister for national highways, Nitin Gadkari," he explained.

Block BJP general secretary, Mohanraj K R, and leaders, Manoj Acharya, Hariyappa Salian and others were present at the press conference.
