Bangaluru, Juy 29: The police personnel of Hebbal station here have arrested three persons on the charges of kidnapping and gang-raping of a minor girl. The names of the arrested accused have been given as Joseph, Santosh, and Subhash.

The police have accused Joseph of kidnapping the minor girl, taking her to Doddaballapur, where he along with five of his friends, repeatedly raped the girl.

The minor was abducted from Manorayanapalya in Hebbal on July 22. Six persons, Santosh, Subhash, Sridhar, Joseph, Raju and another person reportedly had kept the girl in confinement and raped her for three days. After three days, the gang had abandoned the girl near the park at Manorayanapalya and escaped. The girl reached home from there and narrated her tale of woes to family members.

A case was thereafter registered in Hebbal police station. On the basis of the statement of the distressed girl, the police have arrested three of the accused. The parents of the girl have accused the police of arresting only some of the accused although six persons had raped their daughter. They have said that the police have been siding with the culprits and trying to save some of them. They have accused the police of bringing pressure on their daughter to change her statement.

The family said that Joseph, working as coolie, had come to know the minor when living near her home in the past. He invited the girl to a spot in the guise of having something to share with her, and kidnapped her in a car from there, it is said.

City (north) deputy commissioner of police, Chetan Singh Rathore, said that the girl was raped in a guava plantation at Doddaballapur.
