Panaji, Oct 7:
The Central Bureau of investigation (CBI) today withdrew their plea against the bailout of Samson D'Souza, main accused in British teenager Scarlett Eden Keeling case.

The Goa Children's Court had granted bail to Samson D'Souza, a bar tenderer, who along with another local was charged for drugging, raping and leaving scarlet to die on the beach on February 18.

The CBI, which is investigating the high profile case, had challenged the bail stating that there are enough grounds against Samson.

But in a new twist to the entire episode, CBI counsel C A Ferreira told the Goa Bench of Bombay high court that the federal investigating agency intends to withdraw the petition.

That means, Samson would be on bail pending trial against him.

The Goa Children's Court had earlier in their judgement had said that there are no enough evidences to substantiate Samson's involvement in the crime.

With Samson's release on the bail, both the accused arrested in the sensational drug, rape and death case, remain out of jail till they are tried and convicted.

Placido Carvalho, who was earlier alleged to be a drug dealer and who was seen with Scarlett, snorting drugs little before her death is also released on the bail.

The second autopsy conducted on Scarlett had proved that a deadly cocktail of drugs and liquor was found in her stomach during her death.

The CBI counsel when contacted refused to comment on the withdrawal.
