Bantwal, Oct 5: In a complaint filed with the Vittal police station, a person named Khader, son of Adam and Ansar, living in Okkettoor, has been accused of stabbing Mohammed Sali (20), son of Yakoob from Mangilapadav near Okkettoor lime stone factory. A pre-existing enmity between the families of the two, is said to be the reason for the attack.
The complainant has stated, that the accused came in a bike, abused and stabbed him, while he was on his way home. Later, he was admitted to Vittal Community Hospital, with serious hip injury.
Another incident that occured at Urimajalu of Idkidu village, relates to a land dispute. The assaulted person, named Sachidananda alias Udaya(46), filed a complaint against a neighbourer named K S Mohan alias Mayya, son of Shivaram Mayya, charging him with biting and injuring his cheeks. The assaulted and accused had a long-drawn dispute since several months, over a piece of land. The dispute is in the court and judgement is awaited. In between, Umesh Uppalike, sub-inspector of Vittal police station and two other lawyers tried to sort out the problems amicablty, by calling both the parties for talks on Friday October 3. The parties seemed to have called truce, but immediately thereafter Mayya bit the cheeks of Udaya. Vittal police have registered the complaint and investigation is on.
