Panaji, Sep 29: Chief Minister Digambar Kamat released a book titled 'Kaleidscope' by Padmabhushan Ravindra Kelekar at a function organized by Konkani Bhas Ani Sanskriti Pratisthan, Mangalore and Vishwa Konkani Sahitya Academi in the city, on September 28.
The function was attended by R V Deshpande, former minister of Karnataka, Lambart Mascarenhas, Senior Journalist, Padmabhushan Ravindra Kelekar and Pundalik Naik, President, Goa Konkani Academi.
Speaking on the occasion, Kamat said, Konkani literature should be translated in other Indian languages which will help to spread Konkani literature all over the country and mentioned that the publishing of the book 'Kaleidoscope' English translation of Konkani essays of Padmabhushan Kelekar is a right direction.
Kamat also stressed the need to prepare terminology for Konkani language. He lauded Padmabhushan Kelekar for his valuable contribution toward Konkani language
Padmabhushan Ravindra Kelekar was also honoured at the hands of Kamat on the occasion.
Lambart Mascarenhas reviewed the book' Kaleidscope' said, this book touches human feelings needs to be read among young generation.
R V Deshpande and Pundalik Naik also expressed their views on the occasion.
Basti Vaman Shenoy,President Konkani Bhas Ani Sanskriti Pratisthan, Mangalore welcomed the gathering. Tanaji Halarnkar, Vice-President of Goa Konkani Academi proposed the vote of thanks.
Chandrika Padgaonkar compered the function.
