Udupi, Jul 4: Adani owned Udupi Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) in association with Adani Foundation, distributed school kits worth Rs 28.38 lacs to 3,026 students in the second phase of education kits distribution programme as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities on Tuesday, July 3.
32 Schools were covered during the second phase. School kits comprising of note books, geometry box, school bag and umbrella were distributed by Kishore Alva, joint president of the company.
The schools where the kits were distributed are Government Model Higher Primary Schools located in Tenka, Mulki and Kaup, Government Higher Primary Schools located in Nandikuru, Adve, Santhuru Kopla, Inna, Hejamadi and Hejamadi Kodi, Ayurveda Bhooshana Higher Primary School in Inna, Zilla Model Primary School in Palimaru, Karnire Primary School in Balakunje, St Paul Primary School, St Paul’s High School, Shree Venkataramana Higher Primary School in Avaralamattu, Government High School in Hejamadi, Hejamadi Kodi, CSI School in Mulki, Medaline Higher Primary School, KPSK Memorial High School, Atikaribettu, Vidyadayini Higher Primary School in Kutyaru, St Mary’s Kannada Medium School in Shirva, Government Primary and High Schools in Sooda, Government School in Halasinakatte.
Addressing the students, Alva said that students should make use of the education kits and every child should concentrate on the studies and aim at becoming a disciplined student, making parents, teachers and school proud of them. He further said that in the present competitive world education plays a key role and every student should excel in their studies to have a wonderful career. He also said that everyone of us should contribute for the development of the society.
