Mysuru: Three persons trying to sell police quarters arrested

Mysuru, Jul 3: Police personnel of Vijayanagara station here arrested three persons when they were trying to finalize sale of police quarters belonging to the government. The arrests were made on Monday July 2.

The arrested men are Revanna (29), Balu (31) and Nagaraju (29) from Hootagalli in the outskirts of the city. They were trying to sell houses located in the police quarters building located at KHB Colony in Hootagalli to some women.

Some houses in police quarters building here are vacant and hence locked. The accused had made some innocent women from Hootagalli, HInkal and Belavadi here to believe that these locked houses were on sale. They took them to these police quarters, broke open the locks, and led them inside. People living in neighbouring quarters noticed them and conveyed information to the police.

Vijayanagara station policemen who went there, questioned the women and realized that the three had collected money from them and taken them for a ride. The accused who were present at the time were taken into custody and the women were asked to leave.

The accused were produced in court whereupon they were remanded to 14 days judicial custody.
