Udupi, Jul 3: “The party workers must not lose hope over loss in assembly polls. The result in the assembly elections is temporary,” said former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake here on Monday July 2.
Addressing Udupi block workers meeting here at Congress Bhavan Sorake said, "In the coastal region, BJP projects Congress as anti-Hindu during elections and thereby gets votes. But Congress seeks votes by projecting its development works undertaken in the state. In Congress 98 percent of the workers are Hindus and Congress leaders have taken leadership in developing temples. Hence calling Congress as anti-Congress by the BJP is laughable.”
“The projects undertaken by our government will be continued by the coalition government too. People will support a pro-people government and the party workers have the responsibility of getting those welfare schemes to the public,” said Vidhana Parishad member Prathap Chandra Shetty.
Pramod Madhwaraj, former minister said, "The upcoming local elections and Lok Sabha polls are crucial for the Congress. The party workers need to start preparating immediately and need to prove BJP's false propaganda against the Congress wrong.
“In the local body elections, loyal party workers will be given an opportunity to contest,” he added.
District Congress president Janardhana Thonse, KPCC secretary Murali Shetty, Udupi and Brahmavara block presidents Sathish Amin Padukare and Nityananda Shetty, party leader Udaya Kumar Shetty Muniyalu and others were present.
