Mangaluru: City police holds drawing competition as part of anti-drug day

Mangaluru, Jul 3: City police conducted a drawing competition as part of ‘International Day against Drug Abuse and Trafficking’ for high school students on Monday, July 2 at St Aloysius College. More than 100 students participated in the event.

Rahul Ramesh won the first place followed by Rohan Pinto, Lishawn D'Souza and Megna D'Costa.

Deputy commissioner of police, Uday Nayak, head of St Aloysius English Medium High School Fr Gerald Futardo, arts teacher of St Aloysius School John Chandran, circle inspector Yogish, Dr Bhaskar K R and Ganesh Nayak were present.



Addressing the gathering, DCP Uday Nayak briefed about various initiatives the police department is taking up to avoid drug menace.

Circle inspector Yogish had an interactive session with the school children about drug abuse.

Head master Fr Gerald Futardo said, “Nowadays, youngsters get addicted to drugs, which us very bad for the society. We all should work together to stop this menace.”
