Belagavi, Jul 3: Senior BJP leader MLA Umesh Katti is confident that the JD(S)-Congress coalition in Karnataka will dissolve within the next six months.
Speaking to the reporters at Sankeshwar in Hukkeri on Monday, he said many MLAs from JD(S) and Congress have approached BJP and confirmed they want to join the party.
The eight time legislator said that fall of coalition is inevitable. “The rift in the coalition is already visible. The unholy alliance is bound to break. BJP State Chief B S Yeddyurappa will become the Chief Minister in the next six months,” he said.
He also rejected Municipal Administration Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi’s claims that BJP MLAs were in touch with Congress and have showed interest in joining Congress. “There is no merit in such claims,” he said.
Katti said that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy should keep up his pre-poll promise. “The CM has promised to waive off loans of farmers which were amounting upto Rs 53,000 crore. However, now he saying only crop loans with cutoff date will be waived. He is just trying to escape,” he alleged.
